O’Neill J. Grathwol, of Lake Minnetonka, founded the firm in 1931. In 1958, James N. Grathwol, his nephew, joined the firm and practiced for 40 years in the Excelsior and Wayzata communities. Jim retired in 1999, but frequently walks by the Water Street office and waves. Currently, Margaret M. Grathwol (Pook) practices Elder Law with her legal assistant Rebekah A. Deutl.
