Everyone needs a Healthcare Directive. This is a document that appoints a trusted family member or friend to make all of your healthcare choices for you. If you cannot speak to the doctors, you need someone you trust to speak for you. A Healthcare Directive does just that. It appoints someone you trust to stand in your shoes and make your healthcare decisions for you. Years ago we called this a Living Will. The modern day Healthcare Directive is a broader document than the Living Will and will encompass all healthcare choices, not just when you are terminally ill.

In a Healthcare Directive you may also designate if you wish to be cremated, and you may designate if you wish to donate your organs. When it is most needed, your family and friends will find great comfort in the direction, authority, and guidance granted in this document.
